The Dog and The Palace Filming

We have spent two days filming at producer Karen Gilchrist's home in Meonstoke, as we work with disabled artist film-maker Gary Thomas on his ambitious new project - The Dog and The Palace.

The work combines film with schools workshops and a touring exhibition.  We have been helping him with some research and development filming.

The project takes its inspiration from the Olympics, and explores the excited journey to London 2012 through the eyes of a child and his much-loved statue of a dog.

The short drama will be presented within a set with two-screens and a child's bedroom, and will feature writings from children from across the South East.

The pilot filming was directed by Gary Thomas, shot by Bim Ajadi, with sound by John Avery.  Actors Reece Donn, Janet Greaves, Alastair Daniel and Jenny Gilchrist played the family, with Bronte the dog as their real life pet.

Visual artist Christine Wilkinson has been helping Gary to develop the project, and Jon Potter has been supporting him in delivering some test school workshops.
