Louise Gibson goes on a photographic journey to learn more about life in modern China and to capture her impressions in her pictures.
Profoundly deaf, Louise has a specific interest in Chinese deaf young people. Her journey takes her to Beijing and Yunnan and opens up a rich and complex impression of the contrasts in modern Chinese life, posing as many questions as answers about the future of the young deaf people she meets.
Dragon People is a documentary special from the Channel 4 series VEE-TV, made by and for young deaf people in the UK. VEE-TV was a factual entertainment series which ran for 6 years on Channel 4, and Dragon People was one of several single and occasional documentary specials.
